SAFETY DRILLS AND EMERGENCIES
Monthly safety drills are conducted according to Victoria ES and Redlands Unified School District’s safety plans. It is important that all students and staff understand what to do in an emergency. Teachers will instruct students regarding specific procedures and necessary safety precautions. In the event of an emergency, every attempt will be made to contact parents/guardians if a student requires immediate medical attention. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to provide updated contact information.
SAFE SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT
SMOKE-FREE, DRUG-FREE, ALCOHOL-FREE ENVIRONMENT: Victoria Elementary provides a smoke-free, drug-free alcohol-free environment. ILLEGAL DRUGS AND / OR SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED ON ANY SCHOOL PROPERTY, AT ANY TIME, WITHIN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
CAMPUS SAFETY
Please contact the administration with any concerns regarding school safety. Consider joining the School Safety Committee. Please know that we want our school to be a welcoming environment to parents/guardians; however, student & staff safety is our utmost priority. The following are a few precautions we taken daily to maintain campus safety:
-
After the 8:00 A.M. morning bell all gates will be secured.
-
Parents/guardians are NOT allowed to walk their children to class.
-
Please refer to the map sent home to see where your child will be dropped off and picked up at dismissal.
-
Parents/adults are not allowed to eat with children during breakfast/lunch. Students are able to walk through the breakfast line independently and eat in the supervised eating area with other students. Parents are also not allowed out on the playground fields, equipment, or play areas.
-
If you would like to meet with a teacher before or after school, please go to the office and they can assist you with contacting the teacher to arrange a meeting.
-
All parents must wait outside the gate when dropping off/picking up their children in the morning and dismissal.
-
All parents must remain outside the gate for their children at the child’s designated exit area during dismissal.
-
Late pick ups must go through the main office and a signature will be required.
We thank you in advance for supporting our students’ safety.
Sprigeo
Sprigeo is our new online system our students and families can use to report discrimination, racism, bullying incidents and school safety threats. We are aware that sometimes children do not report bullying or abuse because of the fear of retaliation from their peers or others. The Sprigeo reporting form can be accessed from the privacy of a home computer or other Internet-equipped device, eliminating the possibility of being identified by another student.
How It Works: Students can access the reporting form by clicking the link below or calling the Sprigeo Tip Line: (909) 703-8736.
