Administration
Dr. Blanca Estella Patel - Principal
Dear Victoria Students and Families,
On behalf of the entire staff at Victoria Elementary School, I'm thrilled to welcome you back for a new school year filled with learning, exploration, and fun! I hope everyone had a chance to relax and create lasting summer memories.
We're all looking forward to a year of learning, discovery, and fun. We understand that starting a new school year can bring some butterflies. Whether you're a returning student or joining us for the first time, please know that our dedicated teachers and staff are here to support you every step of the way.
First Day of School and Early Release Day on Mondays
First Day of School: On Wednesday, August 7th our school classrooms, halls, and playground will come alive again with the energy of students on the first day of school. This year, we’ll continue with Early Release Days (Min. Days), however, the day has changed to Mondays.
Please take note: Early Release Day (also known as Min. Day) will be on Mondays. Beginning on Monday, August 12 we’ll begin Early Release Day Mondays.
Academic, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and Enrichment
We’ll continue with our programs that have brought academic success to increase student academic performance in our schools such as AVID Elementary (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, Reading: WICOR) strategies and targeted focused interventions.
We'll also continue to foster a positive learning environment where we integrate SEL and Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) that will help develop essential skills such as self-management, peer relationship skills building, responsible decision- making that are all integrated in a positive school learning environment.
Lastly, we are thrilled to announce that students will explore and develop their skills and talents through our Physical Education (PE) Enrichment Program and Arts and Music Program. Our Physical Education Enrichment Program will continue for all Kindergarten - 5th grade students and we’re excited to see the positive impact our physical education program has on students health and well-being. Prop. 28 Arts and Music Program will provide a wider range of experiences for our students:
For Kindergarten - 3rd grade will include: Art, Music, and Theater.
For 4th - 5th grade will include: Choir, Art, Orchestra, and Band.
We believe that these programs will provide a well-rounded education for all our students. Physical activity, combined with exposure to the arts, fosters not only physical and creative development but also social skills, collaboration, and self-confidence.
Daily Attendance Matters
We believe that every school day is an opportunity for your child to learn, grow, and connect with their peers and school personnel. Consistent attendance is crucial for their academic success and overall well-being.
Planning for Appointments: We understand that unexpected situations may arise. However, whenever possible, we encourage you to schedule medical, dental, and other appointments during school breaks or on early release days Mondays and other scheduled minimum days. This will help minimize disruptions to your child’s education.
We are committed to partnering with you to ensure your child’s academic success. If your child is experiencing chronic absences due to unforeseen circumstances, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher; Ms. Nancy Garcia, attendance clerk; School Counselors, or administration. We can develop a plan to support your child and get them back on track.
Together, by prioritizing daily attendance, we can create a thriving learning environment where all students can reach their full potential!
Strong Family School Partnerships
We believe a strong partnership between families and school is essential for student success. Your involvement is crucial to your child's success. We encourage you to stay connected by checking our website and community board outside the front office regularly, and attending upcoming events like our Back-to-School Night on Monday, August 12th and participate in parent meetings such as Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), Pastries with the Principal, School Site Council, and English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC).
We can't wait to embark on this journey together!
In partnership,
Estella Patel, Ed.D.

Kristine Castro - Assistant Principal
Dear Tiger Families,
My name is Kristi Castro and I am so excited to be joining the Victoria Family as your full-time Assistant Principal!
My journey into education started over 20 years ago and since then I have taught every grade from Kinder to 6th! This will be my ninth year in the Redlands Unified School District and I feel so lucky to work for a district that focuses on Excellence For All Students. I am a life-long learner and believe the more I learn, the better I can help serve our students.
It is an honor to be at this school and I look forward to partnering with all the students, families, and staff in this wonderful community to help each and every child receive the BEST elementary experience possible. I am here to serve this community and I can't wait to meet all of our wonderful families. I believe in an open-door policy, so please feel free to stop by and say hi! Together we can make this a great year.
Go Tigers!
Kristine Castro
