Victoria is constantly adding new activities. While many are listed here, it is not a comprehensive list as new groups form and others end. Please note that all students need signed parent permission to remain after school for any club or event. Also, students are only allowed to remain at school after dismissal for officially sponsored activities.
New this year to Victoria, the book club meets after school from 2:15 to 2:45 the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. Hosted by Mrs. Farrell and Mrs. Hoch, the book club meets in room 4.
Sponsored by the Redlands YMCA, this program starts in mid September and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. Permissions slips must be signed and returned before students can remain for this intramural event.
We are happy to announce that are able to participate in the PTA Reflections contest. The book fairs are hosted twice a year, once in the fall and again in the spring. Scholastic Book Fairs provides the books for our book fairs. Each year our book fair sales have grown, and last year we had our best book fair yet. We're hoping this year we can exceed last year's sales.
Awards assemblies are held 3 times a year at the end of each trimester. Awards are presented to students in the categories of Academic Achievement, Citizenship, and Positive Students Awards. There are also students recognized for the Tenacious Tiger Award. Receipients of this award get to participate in Lunch With the Principal. Peacebuilder pencils are also awarded.
Once a month we have a flag ceremony on the playground. We say the Pledge of Allegiance, the Peacebuilder Pledge, and sing our school song, Oh Victoria. Staff members of the month and Peacebuilder awards are also given out.
Accelerated Reader Award Days
Each trimester, students who reach their individualized Accelerated Reader goal are invited to participate in the AR Award Celebration. Ask your child (or your child's teacher) what his or her AR goal is for this trimester. Each AR quiz your child takes reports the current progress toward the trimester goal. We want EVERY child to join us for this party!
